Giving my time to honour all that I have received- Birthday month!
Personal quest to give in the difficult times.
Birthday month- Gratitude Hour Giving!
“Goodness is not powerless. It is patient, steady, and relentless. Gentleness is bold because it refuses to become what it stands against. Kindness is radical because it thrives in a world that tries to smother it.”
These words remind me that even small, quiet acts of care can create a lasting impact. As I celebrate my birthday month, I’m reflecting on the past four years spent fundraising for causes I care deeply about—from COVID-19 relief to supporting NETRI. Each time, this incredible community has shown up with love and generosity.
This year, I feel abundant and want to give back to the society that has shaped my values. So, instead of asking for support,
I’m offering my time (32 hours—my age is no secret!) and expertise to organizations working on climate financing, gender, AI and technology, or any other wicked public policy problem you think is interesting and impactful. I’m ready to volunteer with up to 2–3 organizations, providing my skills in whichever ways are most needed. My only request is for some flexibility in scheduling. I promise to listen deeply and show up fully.
Context: I am currently based at Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, honing my skills in public policy, and have been building NETRI for the last 6+ years. I am pausing to rethink the world and its priorities with Trump-o-nomics changing the equations of foreign and global politics and policies.
If you know of (or lead) an organization that could use extra hands, insight, or collaboration, please reach out. Let’s build the quiet, steady work of care, connection, and courage—together. ( I will start this by the end of this month, so give me time to evaluate and get back to you.)
I’m excited to see where this journey leads and to learn from the people I meet along the way. Thank you for reading, and please feel free to share with your network if you think someone might benefit from it.
